5. Monetary commitment

Tracts or books or magazines are frequently given away as a method to the steps toward mind control. After becoming affiliated with the group the novice member is told that only by paying dues can he fully enjoy the benefits of membership. In theological cults dues are often labeled tithing and made mandatory for complete acceptance into the organization.
Once it starts, the ongoing quest for money never stops. There is always some reason why they need more money.
One of the cardinal rules of a con game is that you never let the mark know he has been conned. It is the same in theological cults. Thank you my friend for letting us scoop up your money. You are such a wonderful person. What? You can't buy food this week? Oh my goodness! Maybe you need to get an additional job!
This type of mind control allows the "mark" to VOLUNTARILY put forth a greater effort so that the cult can proceed with their goal to gather in the gold.
Lucre is a sign of God's grace The holier you are, the more money you will have.

1. Wealth is a sign of god's blessings.
2.To gain God's blessings you must be a member of my church.
3. To be a full fellowship member of my church you must give my church a fixed percentage of your income
4. If you do this you will gain (a)God's blessings (b)Money and © heaven.
5. If you fo not do this you will not have wealth and God will not bless you.
